I would highly recommend working with Mike and April if you are looking to purchase a property in Calgary from out of province. In December of 2022 I accepted a transfer offer and needed to find a place to live in Calgary by the beginning of February. I had limited time and Mike listened very carefully to my requirements and needs and set off to find me the perfect home! He had some ideas of places that might fit my lifestyle and now that I have been here for 4 months I can really appreciate his suggestions. I am within a ten minute walk to my office and have access to the plus 15 and I am also right next to a beautiful and safe park that I use almost every day. My condo unit checked off all of my requirements and I am really enjoying living here. Mike and April were incredibly accommodating and flexible and really went above and beyond for me to help pull together my move and property purchase in a tight time frame. The closing process was not stressful and I felt like Mike had the experience and expertise to connect me with all of the right people in order to make things happen. Mike was an exceptional Realtor, he went above and beyond to ensure that we found a home in our neighbourhood. Firstly, the price point was above what we had discussed and we didn’t think we could afford the increased mortgage but the house had a basement suite which could supplement our mortgage payment! He improved our knowledge about renting in the area (as we had none before), explained the perks of renting in Hillhurst. Secondly, we couldn’t see beyond the home and the renovations that would be required, it was outdated and not my style at all and we were worried about price to renovate especially since we are going above our price point. Mike and his designer also walked through with us a few times to encourage us that the bones are good and the rest is cosmetics and can be made into that modern home we desire! Not only did he do that with us but he and his team worked with us to have a contractor give us a quote (before we purchased the home) so we would have an idea of the cost to get to that modern look. It was this knowledge and diligence that enabled us to take the leap and purchase the home, renovate utilizing his contractor and design team to beyond anything I could have imagined which has enabled us to stay in the neighbourhood and raise our son here. Not only did he help us buy a home but the hard work and persistence he demonstrated on selling our home by giving us pointers on decluttering, landscaping (even trimming our trees while we were away on vacation) shows how much he cared about getting us the price we deserved. Mike is more than Realtor, he is your friend that wants you and your family to be happy. When you are buying a home or selling a home, it is one of the biggest things you can do and having a Realtor you can fully trust has your needs at heart, makes all the difference!

We recently purchased a home with the assistance of Mike Baboushkin and April DeJong. Mike was very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs, he provided us with valuable information on a home inspector and lawyer to assist us with this purchase that helped make buying a house a lot easier. The home inspector identified a few issues that need addressing and Mike worked with the seller and us to ensure that our concerns were addressed prior to closing. He took the initiative to obtain quotes for the required work and helped us come to a satisfactory compromise with the seller to address our concerns, and ensure that the purchase proceeded so that there was no need for a hold backs or complicated amendments to our purchase agreements. Mike’s knowledge and connections helped ensure a smooth purchase transaction and saved us unnecessary time and expense on finding a lawyer to assist us with our purchase. Mike and April also connected us with the seller before closing as the seller was interested to know if we wanted to purchase some household items that he figured he no longer required after moving out of the house.

We met Mike a couple of years ago, at an open house. Right away, we liked Mike's outgoing personality, when we started talking to him it was very evident he was familiar with the area we were considering (Kensington/Hillhurst/Parkdale).
Earlier this year, we decided it was time to be serious about finding a new home. Since we were still looking in the same area as the year before. we knew exactly who to talk to. Mike made us feel at ease from the start. We could ask any questions at any time. Mike explained the whole process from beginning to end, we listed our home with him and started house hunting.
Selling our home.- Mike was always aware of the competition, advice accordingly, and his advice was always spot on. Mike also has a vast network of contacts (mortgage, home inspectors, appliance vendors, etc.), so whatever you need, he knows someone who can help you. Buying our home.- Mike expertise in design was evident. Each time we walked into a home, he would point out design features; does the house have a flow; are the kitchen coverts too high, etc., Things that would help us picture how day-to-day life would be in that home. These details are not on the paper listing.
